John S. Licata, 94, of Westminster, Colorado passed away peacefully on January 14, 2024, with his family by his side.
He was born in North Denver (Little Italy), Colorado on June 23, 1929, to Camillo and Florence Licata. He was one of eight children in the family. He graduated from Mt. Carmel High School and went on to serve 2 years in the Navy.
He married Jackie Johns in 1952 and they had 3 children, Vickie Campbell, Steven Licata and Debbie Coleman. He worked very hard to take care of his family as a milkman, a meat cutter, and finally as a brewery worker at Coors where after 25 years he retired in 1995.
All family vacations were spent camping and fishing, which were his favorite hobbies. He also was a Denver Bronco and Colorado Rockies fan. He also loved going "Up the Hill" to gamble.
John was involved with his children, always taking them to activities. He coached Steve's little league baseball team. And later when he had grandson, he coached their little league baseball teams and was involved in Boy Scouts with them. His family was everything to him.
John is survived by his daughters, Vickie Campbell and Debbie Coleman and son, Steven Licata. His grandsons Jon, Kevin and Eric Campbell. His great-grandsons Kevin Jr. and Kyle Campbell, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Licata. His parents, Camillo and Florence Licata. His brothers, Michael, Rocco, Louis and Anthony. His sisters, Mary Meiser, Josephine Rains and Angelina Yeager.
