August 20, 1929 - December 7, 2011 On December 7, 2011, John Zavatchin passed away in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. John is survived by his wife Tinka (Kathryn); 6 children Karen, Sharon (Ron), Bill, Sandy, Jamie (Arthur), and Christy; 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; 6 brothers and 1 sister; and numerous nieces and nephews. John was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania, in 1929. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1946 and ultimately retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1984. John loved spending time with his family, fishing, camping, golfing, gambling, and being a lifetime member of the Westminster Elks Club. John will be truly missed by his family and many friends. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Collier Hospice Center, Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Services will be at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on Monday, December 12, 2011, beginning with a visitation at 10:30 A.M. followed by a scripture service at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be on Tuesday, December 13, at 1:30 P.M. at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area "B".
