John died peacefully after a long struggle with kidney disease, surrounded by his wife and family, in his new home in Lafayette CO. A devoted fan of college and professional sports, from Chicago to Denver to Phoenix, John embraced each of his “home” teams with equal enthusiasm. His true gift was making friends and many of his closest friendships dated back more than sixty five years. He was born and raised in Chicago and graduated from St. George High School in Evanston Illinois in 1955. After attending the University of Denver, he returned to Denver following a stint in the military. He married Janice Braun on October 17, 1981 and acquired a ready-made family. He is survived by his wife, Jan, his sister Mary Braun of Chicago and step-children Danelle (Doug) Naylor, Gregg (Christina) Kientz and Julie (Dirk) Elting, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Cecilia Braun and his faithful cat Little Bit. Services were private
