John Joseph & Caroline Ann Mally

June 1, 1927 — July 31, 2017

John Joseph and Caroline Ann Mally both passed into eternal life last week. John was born June 1, 1927 and died on July 31, 2017 and Carol was born January 15, 1931 and died on August 5, 2017. They were happily married for 67 years and were inseparable in love and life. On Sunday morning July 30, they were both found in critical condition and left their home together for the last time to seek medical help. They both were taken to Lutheran Hospital where John passed about 24 hours later. It was discovered Carol had an advanced stage of cancer the evening John passed and was moved to the Collier Hospice Center at Lutheran on Tuesday, August 1. There, Carol was lovingly and peacefully taken care of by the exceptional staff allowing her family to spend as much time with her as possible in her final days of life. Carol crossed over on the morning of August 5. Carol founded House of Carmel Religious Goods and Books in 1974, building her dream business based on her love for Christ and her Catholic faith. After John retired from Prudential Insurance in 1982, he joined his wife Carol to work at the store. They then ran the family business together and touched so many peoples’ lives in a very loving and Christian way. John and Carol continued to work at House of Carmel until June of this year, when Carol fell at home and injured her arm, and could no longer work. Their legacy of faith and love will be long remembered by so many people! John and Carol have now joined their eldest son, Dana, who passed in 2013. They are survived by five of their six children and spouses: Doug, Alan (Beth), Chris (Leanne), Leanne (Greg) and Greg (Debb) in addition to 18 grand children and 20 great-grandchildren, with 2 more expected to arrive in the coming year. Their Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be held this Friday, August 11 at Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 12735 West 58th Avenue, Arvada, Colorado 80002. The Rosary begins at 10:00 am with the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Following the Mass, a reception will be hosted in the church hall with internment at Mount Olivet at 2:00 pm.
