May 2, 1921 - December 17, 2012 Joe P. Lopez May 2, 1921 to December 17, 2012 Joe Lopez, of Littleton passed away Dec. 17, 2012, he was 91 years old. He was born May 2, 1921 to the late Rosalio Maria Lopez; in addition to his parents six brothers, Bob, James, Sam, Eddie, Ben, and Steve also precede him in death. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during World War II; he also enjoyed baseball, all kinds of sports, loved watching nature programs and gardening. Joe is survived by his three children, James Lopez, Alvera Lopez, and Kenneth Lopez; grandson, Ryan and 2 great grandchildren. Four sisters, Lena Martinez, Sue Lara, Tillie Acevedo, and Kathy Guzman, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive him. Services will be held on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 9:30 am at Holy Name Catholic Church, 3290 W. Milan Ave., Sheridan, CO interment will follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Memorial reception to follow Ft. Logan at Emeritus Memory Center, 3490 W. Quincy Ave. Denver, CO. Arrangements are under the direction of Malesich and Shirey Funeral Home Colorado Crematory of Arvada.
