The Man, the Myth, the Legend. Joe “El Flash” Celso Vallejos, age 84, passed away August 22, 2018. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Ignacia and Pulidor Vallejos and sister Glenda Vallejos. Joe is survived by his wife, Marcella Vallejos(Coca); Children Janice (George) Montoya, Loretta (Michael) Vigil and Annette (Joey) Trujillo; Siblings Ernest (Anita) Vallejos, Rosalie (Leroy-deceased) Chacon, Gustavo (Roberta) Vallejos, Gabriel Vallejos, Becky (Ralph-deceased) Aragon, Geneva (Jerry) Pacheco, Laura Vallejos and Mark Vallejos. Joe “El Flash” Celso Vallejos was born on April 21, 1934 in Amalia, New Mexico. to Ignacia Cordova and Pulidor Vallejos, the oldest of 10 children. Joe loved spending his time in the outdoors hunting and fishing in Amalia. At the age of 19, he met the love of his life, Marcella. Upon seeing her for the first time, he knew he would marry the “gorgeous girl with long, blonde hair.” He persistently pursued her and on October 25, 1957, his dream became reality when they married. In their 62 years of marriage, Joe’s legacy was established through his 3 daughters- Janice, Loretta, and Annette, 7 grandchildren- Lori, Gerald, Michael, Dominic, Josh, Isaiah and Amisty, and 14 great- grandchildren. Joe loved BIG! From always buying gifts for his wife, to playing and joking around with his grandkids, there is no question that he valued family. Joe will be remembered by his fun loving, ornery personality and through the legacy of family he established. “Legacy is not leaving something for people. It’s leaving something in people.” –Peter Strople Service will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Novation Church, 9051 Harlan St, STE 10, Westminster CO 80031. Reception with family and friends to follow at Elevation Dream Center 9051 Harlan St, STE 20, Westminster CO 80031. Burial will follow at a later date in Amalia, New Mexico.
