January 31, 1923 - October 30, 2012 JANE CLAIRE YOUMANS Beloved mother and grandmother, Jane C. Youmans, passed away on October 30, 2012 in Colorado Springs, CO at the Namaste Home for Alziemer's. Jane was 89 years old. She struggled with Alziemer's disease and dementia but died of natural causes. Jane was born in Leadville on January 31, 1923 to Gertrude (Schmidt) and Wallace McCarty. The family consisted of seven siblings. After serving in the US Navy during World War II, she met Donald G Youmans Sr in Hawaii and they were married , December 31, 1945, after the war making their home in Leadville. She is a decorated war veteran. She served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and was a member of the Alter and Rosary Society, the Eagles Lodge and the Lady Elks. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald G Youmans Sr, her parents Wallace Gertrude McCarty; her brothers Wallace, Chalmer and Donald McCarty ; her sisters Patricia Bowles and Marlene Kerrigan and her Granddaughter, Sheila (Holland) Marquez. She is survived by her son, Donald Nancy Youmans (Thornton); her daughter, Karen(Youmans) Brad Johnston (Divide) and sister, Marie McDowell of Seattle. Jane is also survived by grandchildren: Tara Knight, April Brown, and Tammy Skye . Great-grandchildren: Christopher Knight, Alyssa Cameron Brown, Khelie Trujillo, Seth Sierra Skye and Great great granddaughter Delilah Trujillo. The Mass of Christian Burial took place on Tuesday, November 6, at the Annunciation Catholic Church. Celebrant was Rev. Father Michael Kerrigan.
