December 4, 1963 - September 12, 2013 James L. Shields of Thornton, Colorado passed away Thursday, September 12, 2013 at North Suburban Hospital, surrounded by loved ones and friends, from complications with stomach cancer. He was 49 years old. James wa a businessman, general labor. He loved his family and friends, outdoors camping, fishing, working with his hands and just enjoing life. James would do anything for anybody. Preceded in death by his mother; Theresa M. Shields and father; Louis A. Shields. He is survived by his sister; Theresa M. McKinney, brother; Louie A. (Valerie) Shields, niece; LaKeisha M McKinney and nephew; Anthony T. McKinney and several aunts, one uncle and many cousins. Services will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at 11:00am at Crossroads Church of Denver Chapel, 9901 W. 50th Ave. Wheat Ridge, CO 80033. Reception to follow services and 1514 Newton St. Denver, CO 80204, 12:30-2:00. The family will be inter some of James' ashes on his mother's birthday October 12, 2013, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery at their burial site, 10:00am, all are welcome. The remainder of his remains will be intered on his birthday December 4, 2013 at Redfeather Lake, 11:00, all are welcome to attend, weather permitting.
