James (Jim) Lansdowne

On the morning of February 2, James P. Lansdowne, age 79, passed away in Arvada, CO. He had lived in Colorado for 36 years. He is survived by his wife Virginia (Ginger), brother Robert (Bob), a niece & nephew & 2 great nieces. Jim graduated from Amherst High School in Amherst, NY in 1958. He went on to Cornell University & graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering & an MBA. The love of the outdoors brought Jim & Ginger to Colorado in 1983. After retirement from the banking industry, Jim became active in Blue Spruce Kiwanis in Evergreen, serving on their board for a number of years. He taught skiing for 17 years at the Loveland ski area. Along with his trusting companion, Pali, Jim hiked 22 of Colorado’s 14er’s. Jim spent the last 2 1/2 years living in a memory care facility at the Springwood Retirement Community in Arvada, Co. There will be a celebration of life late in the spring.
