James "Jim" Blain

September 14, 1939 ~ October 21, 2015 James Robert Blain or Jim to his friends and family died on October 21, 2015 at 76 years of age. Born September 14, 1939 in Bloomington, Illinois. He was the son of Vernon and Lillian Blain and is survived by his sister Dolores Stauffer and three brothers, Charles, David and Stephen. He was preceded in death by his brother Leon. Jim was married to Jerri Fitzgerald Blain on April 26,1962 and is survived by Jerri, his son Mitchell R. Blain and grandson Mitchell C Blain. He is preceded in death by his daughter Mandy. He was a graduate of Danvers High Schools in Danvers, Illinois and eventually moved with Jerri to Denver, Colorado where he became a Mechanic, Entrepreneur, and part owner of Grey Line Tour buses. He enjoyed woodworking during his retirement creating unique rocking horses and doll beds for family, friends and local children and was surrogate brother and father as well as loyal friend to many. A memorial celebrating Jim’s life will be held at the Cross Roads Chapel, Wednesday October 28th. 9901 West 50th Avenue, Wheatridge, Colorado at 12:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim’s name to the charity of the donor’s choice.
