James "Jamie" B Fisher Iii

June 17, 1951 — November 7, 2017

James “Jamie” B. Fisher III was born June 17th, 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri to parents Jim and Reka Fisher. Jamie came to Colorado in 1971 living in various places which included Alma, Evergreen, Golden and finally Arvada where he lived for 24 years building a wonderful life. Jamie met the love of his life, Deborah, in 1984 at a Halloween party with close friends. They were married for 31 wonderful years and had two amazing sons. Jamie is survived by his wife Deborah, sons Ian (Courtney) and Neil (Naomi), grandson Maasai and older sister, Alison Fisher (Lauren). With his amazing work ethic, Jamie believed in working hard to make your way in the world. He was a philosopher; a passionate man whom stayed true to his beliefs. He was outspoken on matters of politics and American History and was famous for his long winded “soapbox” rants covering all types of topics. Jamie, the artist, had many passions including handmade jewelry, abstract painting, sculptures made from mica, writing, and brewing beer. Jamie was an avid reader touting claims of more than 52 books per year. He had particular interests in military and American History, geology and the rich historical past of Colorado. Jamie loved the great outdoors which naturally drew him to Colorado. He enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and spending time with his family enjoying all that Colorado has to offer. Jamie could be found in the summer months in his chair on the patio reading and enjoying a cold beer. After a hard fought battle with cancer and two strokes, his final wish was to return to the home he loved. He passed peacefully 10 days later in his home with family and friends. He will be dearly missed.
