4/18/44 - 2/27/15 'A Wild Colonial Boy'. Jamie was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Terry. Jamie was born and raised in Rochester, NY; served in the U.S. Air Force 1963-1969. He moved to Colorado and began an adventurous life among the rivers and mountains of the West. His ashes will be spread in the wilderness of Idaho along The River of No Return where he lived as a hermit, fully in tune with nature, for several years. He returned to Denver in 1995 to be with his sons and care for his brother. Among numerous loved ones, Jamie is survived by his sons, Jim and Patrick; his stepsons, Michael and Todd Hopkins; grandsons, Jake, Jack and Patrick; his brother, Dan; his dog, Max; and his soulmate, Joyce. Young people gravitated to this man to listen to advice and outrageous stories, to share his knowledge of music and sports, (and virtually anything else) as this man could talk! And, of course to share a Jameson Irish Whiskey. Jamie would wish you perform an unsolicited act of kindness for one less unfortunate. Donations may be made to Colorado Visiting Nurse/Hospice. An Irish wake is being planned. 'I left my heart in so many places, I scarcely know where is home'
