Irvin D. Enns

August 12, 1942 — March 6, 2017

Irvin Enns, 74, of Lakewood passed away on March 6, 2017. Irvin was born in Inman, Kansas. He was a farm boy on his parent’s farm which they homesteaded. After he graduated high school, he married and moved to Gulfport, Mississippi where he had two children. From there he moved to Denver, Colorado and became a plumber. Irvin and his wife started their own manufacturing business in 1976. A wooden duck marionette named Woody Wobbler started the business. Many other marionettes followed including a “Hotdog” and a Flamingo which were the next best sellers. He then created executive pen sets that were sports related. What made them special was that they were actually playable. Golf was the best seller. From there the business went in a different direction with the addition of many different styles of candle holders. Their business lasted for over 25 years. He would take a jog every morning and lift weights to keep in shape. He loved food and became quite accomplished at barbequing. He loved ice cream and would hand crank his own with the family for years. Irvin took his family on many camping trips where they did a lot of hiking. Later on he even hiked up four “fourteeners” , including Long’s Peak which he hiked up twice. He loved to make things out of wood including many toys for his children, some furniture and most importantly, a major addition to his house. He built a custom fireplace inside his house and a brick oven in his back yard just for baking homemade bread, which he delivered to his family at least once a month. Irvin won 1st place at the State Fair one year for his bread and won 2nd and 3rd place for Apple Pie at the Cider Days event in Lakewood. Irvin enjoyed 53 years with his loving wife and family. He died peacefully in his sleep and is now enjoying his new life with his savior, the lord Jesus Christ. Services will be held Monday, March 20 at 12:00 p.m. at the Bear Valley Church 10001 W. Jewell Ave. Lakewood, Colorado 80232
