April 24, 1916 - September 24, 2014 Henry Joseph Carlyle of Wheat Ridge, Colorado passed away September 24, 2014. He was 98 years old. Henry was born on April 24, 1916 in New York, New York. He joined the U.S. Army in 1940, served our country in WWII for 5 years and trained mules at Camp Hale. He graduated college in Salt Lake City, UT. He wed the love of his life, Elvira Girsch in Chicago, IL August 1945. In the late 1940's they moved to Colorado where they bought their home in Wheat Ridge, of which they lived for 66 years. Henry enjoyed organic gardening and reading, he read everything he possibly could, resulting in his enormous amount of knowledge. He was a life-long member of the Wheat Ridge Grange. He got involved with and helped build the Saints Peter and Paul Church and Parish Community. Henry was loved by all, he had so many friends, everywhere he went. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather. Henry is preceded by wife, Elvira and daughter, Lillian. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Genevieve, 4 children, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Visitation will take place Sunday September 28, 2014, 6-7pm, Rosary at 7:00pm, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 3900 Pierce St. Wheat Ridge, CO 80033. Mass will take place Monday September 29, 2014, 10:30am, at Sts. Peter and Paul, followed by a graveside service at Ft. Logan National Cemetery at 1:30pm.
