Hans Juergen Foerster

April 8, 1942 — December 19, 2015

April 8, 1942 ~ December 19, 2015 Hans Juergen Foerster passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015 after a long battle with multiple illnesses.  He is survived by his wife, Sally Hobler, step sons, Todd and Reid Hobler, and granddaughters Jordan and Presley. Hans received an engineering degree in Germany and immigrated to Canada.  He worked his way across Canada building railroads and the trans-Canadian pipeline and taught himself English by reading comic books and watching television, when it was available.  He then moved south to warmer climates and worked numerous jobs in construction management that ran the gamut from Iran, Ecuador, Texas, Arkansas, New York, California, and ultimately settling in Colorado.  He earned both commercial pilot and helicopter licenses.  His work ethic was undeniable, as those who worked for and with him will attest. In the Denver area Hans was a major contributor to the 6th-Lincoln-Speer tunnel, paving of Broadway and Reconstruction Paving of Lincoln, the bus turn-around on the 16th Street Mall, and the Northwest Parkway I-25 Interchange, just to name a few.  He was intense and passionate about his work and life. Blackhawk and the rest of us will miss his stories and opinions. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Denver Hospice, Attn: Education Department, 501 S. Cherry St. #700, Denver, CO 80246.
