H. Glenn Snyder

July 9, 1925 — June 18, 2016

H. Glenn Snyder went home to his Lord on June 18, 2016 at age 90. Born near La Junta, Colorado on July 9, 1925, to Harve E. Snyder and Alma Ruth Driver Snyder, he was well loved and respected for making contributions to his community through his farm and ranching and businesses, his kindness, and his Christian faith. Services will be held July 9th, at East Holbrook Mennonite Church, 32723 Road 38 Cheraw, Colorado, 718-853-6377. A short graveside ceremony at 11:30 am will be followed by a remembrance circle and meal in the Church until 1 pm. Please call 720-297-7175 to RSVP if you plan to attend. The family moved to Cheraw, Colorado in the Holbrook Valley and helped develop the local farming and ranching area. Glenn graduated from Cheraw High School in 1942 and attended classes at Otero Junior College from 1946 – 47. He continued in farming and ranching in Cheraw and married Mary Lou Farmwald, of Plain City, Ohio, in 1949. Three daughters were born to this union, Candace, Debra and Lisa, and they were active in church and school. The family of five moved to Rocky Ford in 1966 where Glenn was district Manager for Farmers Insurance. His client’s trust and appreciation of his genuine care helped build his district to one of the top in Colorado. Always connected to nature and the land, he late became a farm and ranch realtor when the family moved to Colorado Springs in 1973. There he served as a deacon at First Presbyterian Church and he and his wife were well known and admired for their assistance and care for both Church members and neighbors. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Mary Lou Farmwald Snyder, and daughters Candace Kinne, Debra Skorka and Lisa (Aprylisa) Snyder and her life-partner Bret Williamson, granddaughter Brandi Campbell and great –granddaughter Alexandria Simpson, and brothers, Willis, Robert, Ron, Howard and Earl Snyder.
