Guy Vincent Wismann

Guy Vincent Wismann passed away peacefully on April 13, 2016. He was most recently residing in Lakewood CO. He was 88 years old at time of death. Guy was born August 8, 1927 in New Albany Indiana son of Emma Meriwether and Frank Wismann. Guy was their 2nd of 5 children. He served in the Philippines with the Navy during WWII. He was stateside with the Air Force. His formal education was done at Purdue and Indiana University in Engineering and Business. He worked primarily at Martin Marietta Aerospace for over 40 years. He was married on August 9, 1952 to Gladys DeSoto in Albuquerque New Mexico. They were married for 50 years. He was a family man and raised 5 children. Guy was part of Church of the Risen Christ Catholic Church in Denver, Colorado since its inception and was one of the first appointed lay deacons. Guy was friendly, gregarious, curious and enjoyed tinkering with things. His interests included fishing, camping and golf. He had Denver Broncos season tickets and was a fan for many, many years. Guy is survived by his children and their families: Mike Wismann and Carolyn Vaclavik, Steve Wismann and Lori High, Paul Wismann, Lynn Wismann, Janet Wismann, 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his siblings, Faye Hammet, Fern Loi, and Bette Wismann. He was predeceased by his wife Gladys Wismann, and brother Harold Wismann. Funeral mass will be held May 4 th 2016 at Church of the Risen Christ, Denver CO at 10:00 a.m. with a reception immediately following. Interment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Funeral arrangements are through Malesich and Shirey. Donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
