November 19, 1947 - December 24, 2011 Gregory Benjamin Clark passed away on December 24, 2011 at Collier Hospice in Wheat Ridge, Colorado at the age of 64. Greg grew up in Sauquoit, New York, a small town just south of Utica. Greg graduated from Sauquoit Valley High School where he lettered in baseball. After graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served four years. In 1973, Greg and his family relocated to Lakewood, Colorado where he and his wife Susan raised their family. Greg worked for and eventually retired from the U.S. Postal Service where he was a clerk at the general mail facility in Denver, CO. Greg loved to watch and talk about the Denver Broncos. Every game was a big event in the Clark household. Greg always had to have his popcorn! He was a huge Colorado Rockies fan and took Tara to the inaugural Rockies game at Coors Field. He attended as many games as he could. One of Tara's favorite memories was the time they went to Seaworld in California and after seeing Shamu the killer whale Greg came up with a new nickname for Tara. He called her Shamuski. Due to the fact that every hotel they stayed at HAD to have a pool for Shamuski to swim in. Greg was a master of nicknames. Tara's other nickname was Frogger, Susan was Herb and Rockford, Jason was Buzzbomb and Stickly. He was also quite the practical joker. One of his favorite tricks was to leave fake snakes, spiders and bugs on coworkers' desks and in other improbable places. He also played tricks on his family. One day he hid in the driveway of his home for a long time, waiting for his brother Peter to arrive from work. The driveway was dark and surrounded by tall trees. As Peter was getting out of his car, Greg played the sound of a werewolf howling on a tape recorder. Peter about had a heart attack. Greg couldn't stop laughing. Greg is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Jean Clark, whom he adored. He is survived by his loving wife Susan Clark and his daughter Tara Clark, and stepchildren David, Todd, Robyn, and Jason; grandchildren Trista, David Jr., Joshua, and McKenzie. He is also survived by his brothers Peter and Christopher, and sister Laura. Greg will be greatly missed by his friends and family. Please join the family for an open house from 12 to 4 P.M on Saturday, January 7, 2012, at 6016 Pierce St., Unit B, Arvada, CO 80003.
