Gerald Paul Brinkhaus passed from this life to meet his loving spouse, Lucille, on June 12. 2017 from his home in Lakewood. He was a month short of his 90th Birthday when he died. Jerry is survived by his children Andrea, Kurt, and Greg; his grandchildren, Sarah, Sy, Jacob, and Paul; nephews, nieces, and great grandchildren. Jerry was a corporal in the 1st Calvary where he served as part of the occupational army in Japan. He began is optometric career with the Brinkhaus Brothers. In the 1950s, he received his Doctorate of Optometry and open a practice in downtown Denver on Tremont Street. He later moved his practice to Lakewood and established Green Gables Optical. Jerry was loving father, grandfather, and a caring uncle. He will be deeply missed by all of his surviving family. We are sad he is gone, but relieved that his pain and suffering is over.
