Gene Avery Dolson

September 13, 1937 — August 4, 2017

Gene was born and raised on the family farm in Macksburg, Iowa. His 35 year career with the "telephone company" was interrupted by his service in the U.S. Army. Gene worked for Northwestern Bell and Mountain Bell, retiring from US West in 1990. Gene married Myrna May of Denver August 6, 1962. They lived in Iowa until moving to Denver in 1970. Their children are Ronda L. Bivins of Lakewood and James E. (Nancy) Dolson of Thornton. Gene was an avid reader, hunter, "tinkerer" and practical joker, loved by many. Gene ioved scouring the Superstition Mountains of Arizonia looking for the Lost Dutchman mine. He is survived by his children, grandchildren Matthew Bivins, DJ Dolson, Shelby Dolson, wife Pauline Foster, brother James Dolson of Cape Coral, Florida, sister Linda Dolson Backus of Wintersett, Iowa and sister Doris Rinard of Scottsdale, Arizona. In addition Gene is survived by numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. He will be missed by all.
