Gayle JoAnne Wiseman Benz was born Aug 8, 1933 at Minot ND and was called home to the Lord on Apr 8, 2018 at Lakewood Co at the age of 84. She was the middle daughter of C. Dayle and Mary (Rud) Wiseman. She grew up in Fargo, ND graduating from Fargo Central High School in 1951. She attended Jamestown College graduating in 1955 with her nursing degree and a group of life-long friends. She enjoyed a 47 yr career as a Registered Nurse. While working at Hazen, ND she met Gordon Benz and found her life’s partner. They married on Sept 15, 1957 and together raised 5 children. Gayle said they were her life’s treasures. Their life’s path moved them from Hazen to Bismarck then to Bottineau, ND. In 1978 they moved to Denver CO. Gayle enjoyed reading, gardening, flowers and sewing. She is remembered for her quilts and beautiful cross-stitch works. She enjoyed traveling and loved her trips to Europe, Alaska and Texas. Summer visits to Minnesota were extra special. Gayle is survived by Gordon, her loving husband of 60 years, daughters Mary Benz of Littleton CO, Susan Teiken (Hal) of Frazee MN, Carrie Zboralski (Jason) of Centennial CO, son Tom Benz (Julie) of Denver CO, daughter-in- law Jennifer Benz of Parker CO. Grandchildren Sara Teiken McKay, Mike Teiken, Richard McGuire, Josh Benz, Halley Benz Sotelo, Mikayla Benz and Abbie Zboralski. Great-grandchildren Knox and Aspen McKay, Benz Teiken, sister Sharon Gardner and many nieces and nephews. Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved son Marshall Benz and her sister Lois Cusick.
