Frank William Priselac Jr.

October 5, 1933 — May 22, 2023

Frank William Priselac, Jr. beloved teacher, brother, father, proud grandfather (Papa) and husband, passed into eternal rest on May 22, 2023. Frank was a dedicated English teacher who taught students in the Mapleton Public Schools for fifty years. He was a champion educator who advocated for public education and the poor. He is the son of Frank Priselac, Sr. (deceased) and Cecelia (Marolt) Priselac (deceased). He loved his Croatian and Slovenian heritage and the Denver community where he was born and raised. As a young boy, he and his brothers, John J. Priselac (deceased) and Joseph E. Priselac, played the accordion at home and football at Annunciation Catholic school. Frank loved polka music, Shakespeare, the Colorado mountains, and spending time with his grandkids at Lakeside Amusement Park. He graduated from Annunciation High School in 1951. In 1955, he graduated from Regis University and obtained a Master's degree from Western State in Gunnison in 1958. As a young teacher, he taught in Leadville and then at York Junior High. He was known affectionately as "Mr. P", to his high school students at Highland High School (nka Skyview). Frank loved to travel, enjoying many trips to Europe and the Balkans. He enjoyed the beauty of the Croatian coastline and the Adriatic region, and the history of his heritage. He was married to Anita T. (Stricker) Priselac in 1966 at Annunciation Catholic Church and he is survived by his wife and six children, Sarah (Priselac) Huntzinger and Tracy Huntzinger, Frank W. Priselac, III, Cecelia (Priselac) Allen, Christine Priselac, George Priselac, Michelle Priselac; and 13 grandchildren, Chloe, Alex, and Andrew Huntzinger, Jackson Priselac, Lily, Bella, Sophia, and Liam Allen, Shayley Priselac, Devyn and Ava Priselac, Eliana Barber and Annalise Consolazio.


A Memorial Mass is scheduled for June 5, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Queen of Peace Catholic Church at 13120 E. Kentucky Avenue, Aurora, CO. An informal gathering will follow the Memorial Mass with details provided at that time.
