November 25, 1967 - May 3, 2012 44, passed away on May 3, 2012 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. She is survived by husband Scott, daughters Elizabeth (21), twins Bridgette and Briauna (10), and son Skyler (16); granddaughter Cyarra; 3 sisters, and one brother; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; aunts and uncles; parents George and Waunetta Zappas; and a great many friends from Wells Fargo and Liberty Mutual. Essie's first and foremost love was her children; she would spend all year long shopping for birthday and Christmas gifts, as Christmas was the day she lived for every year and made sure that all the kids had plenty of presents. She was very close to her daughter Liz and loved spending time with her granddaughter Cyara. She loved to go camping every year at Turquoise Lake and really got a kick out of watching her twins fish for the first time, where they were both catching fish and no one else was. She loved, and was a very compassionate fan and supporter of her son's hockey teams. Essie enjoyed watching Skyler play hard, skate hard, and put a nice big hit on whoever had the puck. Essie accomplished so much in the short time she was here. She received a bachelors' degree from the University of Phoenix and graduated with a masters degree in business management from Regis University in 2010. All of these accomplishments were done while raising a family and working full time; this is truly a testament of the wonderful and very driven person she was. Essie's wishes were to have a celebration of life gathering. The celebration will take place Saturday, June 9, 2012, 4 P.M. - 11 P.M. at The Event Center at Church Ranch, 10200 Wadsworth Blvd., Westminster, CO 80021.
