Elaine Ethel Akers

July 11, 1924 — October 3, 2017

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Elaine was the eldest of five children. All of whom she outlived. She dedicated her life to assisting the hearing impaired. After learning sign language, she was able to assist in bible studies, courtrooms, and even national conventions. She was passionate about both reading and writing poetry. Her love for nature held a particular fondness for wide open fields, daisies and autumn. A jack-of-all-trades, she was a talented baker, a skilled seamstress and proficient in pottery. She traveled the world and experienced a variety of cultures, but nothing lessened her love for her Scottish heritage. Elaine is survived by her daughter, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Her kind heart and sensitive nature allowed her to help others in any way that she could. She was loved and respected by all that had the pleasure of knowing her. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October, 18 at 7pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, located at 11650 W. 76th Ave. Arvada CO. 80005 Any contributions can be made to the Watchtower Society of New York.
