On February 6th 1947 Edwina Jane came into this world and on November 24th 2022 she left this Great Big Beautiful World after having a wonderful dinner with her beloved ones.
She survived by her beloved husband of 47 years Joe, her son Sheldon Crawford, daughter Sheila Gresham, her beloved Henry dog, sisters Margie Hewitt and Wilma Jacobs. As well as her nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and many many others to mention.
After my aunt Janie's passed I sat down and talked with many people and ask them to tell me their stories, thoughts, memories, and what they would remember her for. Everybody mentioned the same thing her, Laughter. She had an infectious laugh and when she started she couldn't quit! It was always a goal to make aunt Janie laugh during family events. The more she tried to stop herself the louder she got.
She was a very loving, caring woman who wanted to feed everybody and always offered coffee no matter what time of day or night. If you walked in the door you better stop and say hello to her Henry dog. She was a "beautician not a magician" as she would say, for over 40 years, one of her Great accomplishments! She was a mother not just an aunt to us all. She loved fishing as long as she didn't have to stab the worm. Her biggest thing that she loved was family get togethers. She would always say let's talk not fight and installed a great family value in all of us kids. At times she was a bit gullible, which I find funny to say because she was one of the smartest woman in my eyes. The smartest that I have known. She would read two to three books at a time. You'd never see Janie without a book. She made sure that us kids would sit down and read during the summer, no matter what! She will forever be remembered as one of the kindest, most loving, toughest, stubborn, stern - yet soft hearted caring woman in our lives!
