February 14, 1926 ~ September 3, 2015 89, Arvada, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2015.  His life’s circle started and ended in the Denver area.  Duane was born in Denver to Pantaleon and Dessie Bril.  He attended Denver Public Schools and graduated from Manual High School as Valedictorian of the class of 1944.  Duane served his country in World War II in the US Navy.  Upon his return to Denver, he attended the University of Colorado earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. In addition to serving his country, Duane was employed by General Electric where he was assigned to the Defense Program, mainly the Silo Program in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and was liaison to the Minute Man Program in Seattle, Washington.  Duane was transferred to the Mississippi NASA Test Facility for the Apollo Program and subsequently the Shuttle Program.  When the Shuttle Program testing was completed, Duane returned to Denver working at Rocky Flats until he retired.  During his retirement he shared his love of math by tutoring students of all grade levels. Bowling was Duane’s passion and bingo was his favorite past time.  His greatest bowling accomplishment came when he won the Amateur Bowler’s Tour Super Bowl in Denver.  We wish he could have yelled “Bingo” one more time before going to Heaven. Duane is survived by his wife of 55 years, Anita; two daughters, Sheila Grisham of Arvada, CO and Karen Creager (Gary) of Broomfield, CO; three sons, Michael (Sharon) of Hattiesburg, MS, Andrew (Christine) of Arvada, CO and Brian (Denise) of Westminster, CO; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
