December 2, 1921 - April 27, 2013 December 30, 1919 - April 27, 2013 Dorothy Louise Petticrew was born on Dec. 2, 1921 to Marie and Frank Dunn in Denver, Colorado. She was their first child, followed by sister s Francis, Mildred and brother Allen. She lived in Denver most of her childhood, graduating from Lakewood High School in 1940. She met Frank (Jimmy) Petticrew and they were married on September 21, 1941. Frank (Jimmy) Arthur Petticrew was born on Dec. 30, 1919 to Pearl and Earl Petticrew in Arvada, Colorado. He joined older sister Virginia. The family moved numerous times as he was growing up but remained in Colorado. Jimmy graduated from Golden High School in 1937. Until recently he would frequently have lunch with some of his classmates from high school. His mother, Pearl died when he was a teenager and his father later married Alma Kerstiens,daughters Lois and Irene joined the family residing in Lakewood. Jimmy served in the Army during World War II. When he returned from the service he and Dorothy resided in Wheat Ridge with daughter Dianne where they lived until 2007. Luanne and Davidlater joined the family. Dorothy and Jimmy were active in Maple Grove Grange for many, many years along with numerous family members and friends. They participated in the Drill Team, served in offices and State Grange events. Jimmy enjoyed his time calling for square dances. For years he also acted as an agent for Grange Insurance. Jimmy owned Wheat Ridge Plumbing Heating, later installed water heaters for Montgomery Ward. Dorothy worked for the Red Cross for a few years and then as a secretary for Grange Insurance. After they both retired they enjoyed traveling in their fifth wheel. They loved watching their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren attending numerous sport events, music programs, plays, dance recitals, birthday parties, graduations and Christmas parties over the years. In 2007 they moved to the Westland Meridian. After an illness Jim moved to The Well House in Arvada in Sept. 2011. Dorothy joined him there in Feb. 2012 until a fall when she required nursing care in Jan. 2013. She then moved to Applewood Our House in April. They both peacefully passed away on April 27, 2013 at their respective homes. They were married for 71 years. They are survived by their children, Dianne (Jim) Keil of Cotopaxi, CO; Luanne (Lowell) Marner of Arvada, CO and David (Sue) Petticrew, of Arvada, CO; 9 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Jim is survived by sister Irene (Ralph) Feisleman and Dorothy is survived by her brother Allen (Lois) Dunn.
