November 25, 1929 - December 17, 2012 Born November 25, 1929 in Bloomfield, Iowa to Leo and Lelia Foster, Don was one of five children: Ruth (1921-2006), Cliff (1927-), Don (1929-2012), Myra (1932-1934), and Alice (1934-). In 1965 Don married Teresa Prado and in 1967, their daughter Christine was born. Teresa died in 1985. In 1991, he married Jeanie (Turner) Librande. He proudly walked Christine down the aisle when she married Lonnie Hart in May, 2010. Don passed away peacefully on December 17, 2012 with his wife and daughter at his side. He graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1947 and moved to Burlington Iowa. In 1951, Don was inducted in the Army and served in the Korean War. He returned to Burlington and he joined the Malta Masonic Lodge in 1954. He attended Iowa State University, graduating in 1958. He then began a career with the U. S. Government where he was employed until his retirement in 1987. For over 20 years, Don was actively involved with the Westernaires, a youth horse-mounted drill team. In 2001 Don became a Shriner. Private services will be held on January 9, 2013 at Fort Logan National Cemetery. A memorial service is pending. Contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children in care of the El Jebel Shrine, 4625 W 50th Ave., Denver, CO 80212 or to Westernaires, in care of Glen E. Keller, Fort Westernaire, 15200 W. 6th Ave., Golden, CO 80401.
