Dianne Loree Apperson Gage

Dianne Gage passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family in Colorado Springs, Colorado on March 10th, 2016. Dianne was born in Sacramento California to Gladys and Woody Apperson on March 13th, 1936. She attended schools in Corcoran, California and went on to the College of the Sequoias and UC Berkeley, and graduated from Fresno State with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She later obtained a master’s degree in English as a Second Language from California State University, Los Angeles. Dianne married David Gage in 1957. They had two children, Lisa and John. The family lived in Redmond Oregon, Red Bluff, California and Corcoran before moving to La Canada, California in 1968. While living in La Canada she worked for the school system and her local church. She also worked for World Vision, and made multiple trips to Ethiopia, Somalia, Kenya, and Sudan. Later she taught English as a Second Language (ESL) in Burbank, California and Pasadena City College. In 1998 she moved to Aurora, Colorado to be near her children and grandchildren. She taught ESL in Denver High Schools and finished her career at Community College of Aurora. Dianne was always cheerful, generous, soft-hearted toward others, and had many varied interests. She was a committed Christian and was always involved in church activity. She loved gardening and became a Master Gardener. Her other interests included decorating her home, antiquing and traveling the world. Dianne loved reading her Bible regularly, and one of her favorite verses was Revelation 3:20: “Look! I (Jesus) stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.” She will be remembered and missed by her daughter Lisa Clemons of Colorado Springs, Colorado, son John Gage and wife Lina of Highlands Ranch, Colorado and her beloved grandchildren, Nathaniel, Jeremy and Abigail Gage. Dianne also leaves behind her sister Moonyeen Gilkey of Corcoran and many nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be sent to World Vision, Attn: Disaster Relief Fund, P.O.
