Delbert C. Johannsen

April 26, 1934 — December 5, 2016

On Monday, December 5, 2016, Delbert (Del) Christian Johannsen finished his life’s work on earth; saying, “Well done, My Son,” our Lord, Jesus Christ lifted him up, and took him to his eternal heavenly home. Del was born on April 26, 1934 in Deadwood, South Dakota, to Jakob and Marie Lorenzen Johannsen. The family ultimately settled in Bloomfield, Nebraska, where he and his brother, Chris, were raised. Upon graduation from high school, Del joined the Air Force, where he faithfully gave eight years of service to our country. Del married his high school sweetheart, Joanne Braunsroth, on November 24, 1956. Joanne’s earthly life’s work was completed on December 2, 2010, when she entered heaven. Upon completion of his service, Del and Joanne returned to Nebraska where Del attended and graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Upon graduation, the family moved to Detroit where Del worked for Chrysler Corp. While at Chrysler, he earned two Master Degrees. Del’s engineering career path led the family to Colorado, where Del’s last career in corporate America was for Coors Porcelain. In 1979, Del joined Joanne as business builders with the Shaklee Corporation, where they traveled the world, and developed friendships that have lasted their lifetimes. They raised two daughters, Cindy Carlson (David), and Gail Miller (Paul). They have one grandson, Eric Carlson (Blake).
