Deborah Marie Gunst

Deborah Marie Gunst was born in Brooklyn, New York to Daniel and Catherine Link on September 24th, 1955. She passed away at her sister's house on Monday May 6th, 2019, after an 11 year battle with cancer. Debbie grew up in Brooklyn with her 4 brothers, Danny, Donald, David and Dean, her 2 sisters, Donna and Diane, and her best friend, Joann McCabe. Debbie moved to Colorado with her family in 1977, and in 1997 gave birth to her twins, Ryder and Colleen. Debbie was a gentle soul and nurturer of people and animals alike. She found peace and solace in nature, especially Glenwood Springs, where she spent many hours soaking in the healing waters and caves. Debbie was a warrior who fought a long, hard battle against cancer. She fought to live and be there for her children, whom she adored above all else. She will be remembered for her strength in adversity, her kind heart, and her fierce desire to protect the helpless and vulnerable. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Catherine, brother, David, and nephews, Matthew and Adam. She is survived by her brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, her partner, Donny, daughter, Colleen, and son, Ryder. Family and close friends will remember and celebrate Debbie at a private gathering.
