February 22, 1942 - April 18, 2014 Deanna "Dee" Kay DeMoss, age 72, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014 at her home in Wheatridge, CO. Deanna was born February 22, 1942 in Lebanon, NE to Donald Everett DeMoss and Majorie Elaine DeMoss (Sonday). She was one of five children. Dee graduated in 1960 from Beaver Valley High School in Lebanon, NE. Deanna married Larry Bruening and to this union three children were born. Deanna moved to Denver and began her career working at a stationary shop in the city. Eventually she moved into office management at Leprino Foods where she spent many years and took great pride in her work. Deanna loved flowers of all kinds, plants, birds and butterflies. She had beautiful gardens, which gave her much joy. She kept herself busy with crafting, quilting, embroidery, scrapbooking and painting. She enjoyed going to plays and treasured colleting teapots, teacups and spoons. She is preceded in death by her father Donald DeMoss, step father Leo Hartmen, brother Darold DeMoss and beloved son Robert "Bobby" Bruening. She is survived by her mother Marjorie Elaine Hartmen and two daughters Cynthia "Cindy" Kay Mattivi, husband Fred and Christine "Chrissy" Ann Lefler, husband Stacy. Three sisters Joannna Heronema, husband Ed, Debra Daily and Brenda Kincaid, husband Arleigh. Also surviving are seven grandchildren Heather Peterson, Apryl Guzman, Casey Mattivi, Lauren Lefler, Robyn Mattivi, Kyle Lefler and Kayla Lefler. Six great grandchildren, Tiffany Peterson, Angel Guzman, Xavier Guzman, Ashley Peterson, Isabella Guzman and Lexi Jackson along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A private viewing for the immediate family will be held on Tuesday at Malesich and Shirey Funeral Home. A public memorial service will be held at the Butterfly Pavilion on Wednesday, April 23rd at 5:30pm located at 6252 W 104th Ave. Westminster, CO. 80020. Final resting place will be Lebanon Cemetery in Lebanon, Nebraska. Memorial donations may be given to Colorado Blood Cancer Institute at www.bloodcancerinstitute.com or the Butterfly Pavilion at www.butterflies.org . Or simply donate blood to your local blood bank. As a result of caring blood donors we were given several more years with our mother, daughter, sister, grandma and friend for which we are eternally grateful.
