August 22, 1929 - November 24, 2011 82, passed away November 24, 2011, in Broomfield, Colorado. He is survived by brothers Donald Trabing of Rio Linda, CA, Gene Trabing of Longmont, CO; daughters Barbara (Jay) Burks of Westminster, CO, Kathy (John) Wentworth of Arvada, CO, Carol (Mike) Duffy of Littleton, CO; grandchildren Dusty (Jeff) Welsh of Thornton, CO, Lori (JR) Martinez of Thornton, CO, Terrance Burks of Westminster, CO, Mercedes Burks of Westminster, CO; great-grandchildren Brooke - 10, Xackary - 9, Alexzander - 7, Kayli - 6, Bayley - 2, Mya - 4 months, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by father William H. Trabing (1958), mother Florence M.(Marsh) Trabing (1992), brothers Marvin Trabing (1972), Dale Trabing (2010), sister Arlene Trabing (Phillips (2006), and granddaughter Stephanie Lei Duffy (2005). He was in the Army during the Korean War, as he would put it to anyone who asked, "I was in the 23rd Infantry, F Company." He did see action, but would not speak of what happened there but would tell us he fought on Pork Chop Hill and Old Baldy. He did enjoy watching sports. He could tell you what the Rockies did wrong to lose a game. He could tell you why the basketball games were canceled for the season, (although we never understood.) He was always seen wearing that Bronco hat of his. He loved taking walks whenever he could (legs permitting). He will be missed by everyone who knew him. Services will be held at Nativity Lutheran Church, 12500 E. 104th Ave., Commerce City, CO 80022, December 15, 3:00 P.M. Interment will be at Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, South Dakota (date pending).
