Danny A Jackson

November 7, 1963 — April 25, 2019

Danny A. Jackson November 7, 1963- April 25, 2019 Arvada, CO Danny Allen Jackson (55) passed away the evening of April 25, 2019 surrounded by family at Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. He will be deeply missed and remembered for his caring nature and endlessly humorous personality. He was always putting others before himself. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Kimberly, children Andrew, Hannah Kersten (Skylar), and Katlyn, parents Joy and Don, grandchild, Harrison, and sister Laurel Downer (Justin “Bud”). Danny was born on November 7, 1963 to Joy L. Battles (Brinkhoff) and Stan M. Battles in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. He grew up in west Golden, CO near South Golden Road and attended Golden high School where he met his wife, Kimberly Ann Schneider. From the start Danny wanted to marry Kimberly, even asking her after a hockey game while still in high school. Kimberly thought he was wild but with another persistent act after high school, she agreed. Danny and Kimberly were wed in Golden, Colorado on July 21, 1984 at the First United Methodist Church. They bought their first house in nearby Arvada, Colorado, the town they later raised their three children, Katlyn (1988), Hannah (1991), and Andrew (1996). Dan always wanted children and heartily enjoyed being a father. He was active and supportive in anything the kids did and their biggest fan. He was the loudest one at the soccer field and their most serious critic, driving them to always give “110%.” Dan began a career as an electrician while the kids were growing up. He studied any chance he could for his classes and journeyman certification between picking kids up from school and taking them to and from soccer practices, cross country, track meets, and scouts meetings. He still looked back fondly to many jobs he held over the years (Meyer’s Hardware, CDL driving for Interstate Batteries), but being an electrician was his passion and by far his most fulfilling work. Dan absolutely loved to work and he wouldn’t let his body stop him from that. Truly he was an entrepreneur at heart and had many great ideas over the years, some of which he acted on and others he daydreamed of to his wife and children. Dan loved anything with a ball in it, soccer, baseball, football, basketball, you name it, he followed it and if the kids were interested in it, he coached it. He especially loved Nascar. Go DJ #88! If he wasn’t spending time with his wife or children, you would likely find him watching the race or catching up on the happenings in sports. Danny loved to travel whenever the opportunity arose and always wished he could travel more, especially if it was somewhere warm or mountainous. All are welcome to join in the celebration of Danny’s life on Saturday, May 4, 2019, 11am at the First United Methodist Church of Golden, CO (1500 Ford St.) officiated by Pastor Susan Otey. Reception to follow. Bowling to follow reception at Western Bowl in Arvada, CO (10000 Ralston Rd.) just as Danny loved. Donations can be made in the memory of Danny Jackson to the American Kidney Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (his favorite charity).
