Colunga, Flora

March 30, 1940 - February 18, 2015 “Goodbye is not forever, goodbye is not the end, it simply means I’ll miss you, until we meet again.” Flora Colunga was full of love. She was caring, kindhearted, generous, and a blessing to everyone she met. She is survived by her adoring husband of almost 40 years, Benjamin Colunga. She will be greatly missed by her children Yvonne, Veronica, Jesse, Anthony, and Benjamin Jr, her sisters, Socorro, Laurie, Irene, Joann, and Beth, her eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, and countless loving friends and family members. She was a mother to all, not just her children and family. She cared for everyone deeply, always putting everyone else’s needs before her own. Her home was your home. You could always rely on her door to be open to find Flora, sitting in her chair, smiling and greeting you with unconditional love and affection. She had a warmth that radiated off of her and a smile that could brighten up any room. Flora taught us respect, acceptance, patience, and how to love unconditionally. She was our warm embrace when we needed a hug, our ear when we needed someone to listen, our shoulder to cry on, our confident, advice giver, and our most beloved angel. After a tough battle, Flora was taken from us on the 18th of February 2015.  Though it hurts a lot, it was God’s time. We take comfort in the fact that she is now free of pain and sickness, walking and flying with the Lord.  We feel the pain in our hearts, she will be deeply missed and forever loved… “I Love you more.” The family will receive friends and family on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Crossroads Church of Denver, 9901 West 50th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, Colorado 80033 Flowers and donations may be sentin care of her eldest daughter: Yvonne Horton 1726 W 101st Ave Thornton CO 80260-6341
