Clarista M. Gooding

On February 13, 2021, Clarista M. Gooding, loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away at age 71. Clarista was born on October 7th, 1949 in Tivoli, Saint Andrews, Grenada to Joyce and Elias Isaac (Deceased). She married Christopher Gooding and had 4 children, the youngest of which passed away as a newborn but raised 3 children: Johanna, Kenroy, and Ovied. She had one son-in-law, Orin, and 3 daughter-in-laws Merryl (Deceased), Gillian, and Cadisha. From her children came 8 grandchildren: Ephraim, Diamond, Bathsheva, Abdiel, Ruhamah, Tabitha, Naamah, and Kareema. Clarista was the second oldest of 12 children with 7 brothers: Clarence (Deceased), Larry, George, Hendricks, Richard, Winty, Darius and 3 sisters: Clarice, Carol, and Miriam. The remaining siblings passed away as newborns. She had 4 sister-in-laws: Merle, Clarice, Marilyn, and Shurland. Clarista was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews: Avanell, Alvin, Anderson, Camasha, Tamara, Simone, Brendan, Haniff, Nicole, Shabbika, Rashida, Chadis, Brian, Gabriel, Makayla, Aaron, Maqueda, Carol, Brian, Salisha, Kamal, Randel, and Shahid. Clarista was a loyal sister-friend to Lynette Sylvester and Lydia Isaac. Clarista loved her Lord Jesus Christ dearly and loved reading her Bible and spiritual books that edified her. She loved her grandchildren fiercely and lived to protect them. She was kind and generous and would do anything for anyone. She dedicated her life to caring for children. She is now awaiting that last trumpet call.
