CLARENCE P. BROWN, JR. OCTOBER 1925 – AUGUST 2017 Clarence P. Brown, Jr. passed away on August 12 at his home in Lakewood, Colorado. He was 91. He is survived by sisters Gloria and Charlene, children Donald and Connie, granddaughter Donna, and great-grandchildren Dylan and Deandra. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley, second wife, Lila, and grandson Michael. A Colorado native, Clarence (“Jimmy”) was born and raised in Denver and rural Arvada. Too young to enlist in regular armed forces when World War Two broke out, Clarence enlisted in the United States Merchant Marines at age 17. Clarence also served in the U.S. Army in the Korean war with the 340 Engineering Construction Battalion. After the war, Clarence worked as a stationary engineer in many of the major hospitals in the Denver area, as well as large commercial buildings. He retired to his home workshop where he enjoyed working with his metal lathe and welding equipment. Interment will be at Fort Logan - Denver, CO. “Absent from the body, present with the Lord.” (2 Cor. 5:8)
