Chip Joseph Kanne

July 5, 1953 — May 16, 2017

Indiana native and resident for many years in the Denver, Colorado area, Chip J Kanne passed away unexpectedly on May 17th at the age of 63. Chip leaves behind his family including Ron, Ronda and Tina, many great friends and his cat Sam. Chip made an impact on many people’s lives around the community with his spunky personality and ability to make friends. Chip was a creative draftsman, avid in sporting clays and a genuine supporter of the US Constitution. For many years Chip would take it easy on weekends by golfing, mountain biking and fishing. Chip was also fortunate enough to log time in airplanes back in the 70’s and as recent as this past year. Chip loved the Chicago Bears and would only watch da’ Bears! Chip served more than proudly in both the Marines and Army. Chip didn’t need his military skills to beat cancer twenty years ago; it was one of his greatest battles. Chip loved to talk about his time with the Special Forces. Chip’s stories were always fun and he spoke so highly of his country. Eating oysters at Papadeaux’s and discussing today’s politics always bought a smile to his face and those across the table. Chip achieved the distinguished marksman badge from the NRA for pistol, rifle and shotgun. He continued his love of firearm safety by instructing many shooters with some as young as age seven. Many of us were fortunate enough to head out to Kiowa Creek on a Saturday and “spank” some clays. Chip will be missed by those in the aerospace industry and by many others.
