Charles Clarence Edwards, age 91, previously of St. Petersburg, FL died on June 1, 2015 in Wheat Ridge, CO.  He was born on July 22, 1923 in Rock Falls, IL to Walter and Cleo Edwards.    Upon completion of high school, Charles attended Open Bible College in Des Moines, IA where he met and married his wife Elaine.  They were married for 59 years.  After college, Charles and Elaine spent several years traveling the country working in the evangelistic field.  Charles pastored at Open Bible churches in Tampa (First Open Bible), Miami and Chamblee, Ga.  He loved being a part of Open Bible.  During his years with them he served on the National Board and was Divisional Superintendent of the Southeastern Region. He participated in numerous mission trips which included work in Cuba, Jamaica and Trinidad.  He loved to serve others.  During his retirement years, he served as a campground chaplain.  After the death of his wife, Elaine, in 2004, he later married Helen Lemberg.  They lived in St. Petersburg for 5 years and then moved to Gold Canyon, AZ.  Charles was a man of God with a giving heart.  He enjoyed traveling, singing worship songs and playing the guitar.  Charles is survived by his son, Paul Edwards; two stepchildren, Audrey Morganegg of Gold Canyon, Arizona and James Lemberg of Florida; and many step-grandchildren. Burial will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Petersburg June 15th at 10:00 am.   A memorial service will follow at Open Bible Church 1200 30th Ave N, St. Petersburg at 11:00 am.
