Charles "Chuck" Shackley

December 31, 1944 — October 14, 2019

Charles "Chuck" Shackley, 74, passed away on October 14, 2019 in Lakewood, Colorado after a month long illness. Chuck was born in Denver, Colorado on New Year's Eve, 1944. He was the third of John and Charlotte Shackley's four children. By all accounts, Chuck was a happy, outgoing person growing up. Those qualities combined with strong faith and his resilient nature remained with him throughout his life. Chuck attended Holy Family Grade and High Schools. He loved participating in school sports, and activities and truly enjoyed the many friendships that he made. He was known as a classmate who always left others laughing. After high school graduation in 1963, Chuck attended Colorado State College in Greeley, Colorado. He earned a degree in education and taught and coached at St. Joseph's High School in Denver, before moving on to other ventures. Chuck had many jobs throughout his life, but he was always happiest when employed in sales positions. He was a natural at interacting with the public. Chuck is survived by loving family--wife Diana, daughter Brooke, her husband Mark and their three children Charlotte, Makenzie and Dominic. He is also survived by his brother, John and sisters Joan and Kathy, as well as many other relatives and friends. Chuck was preceded in death by his wonderful parents and beloved son, Sam. Funeral Mass for Chuck will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4377 Utica St., Denver on Thursday, November 14th at 10 o'clock in the morning. A rosary will be said before Mass. A reception will follow in the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or your favorite charity in memory of Chuck.
