Charles "Chuck" Hoppes

December 10, 1939 — March 30, 2022

Charles Alvin Hoppes "Chuck" December 10, 1939 – March 30, 2022 Our Treasured Friend went into the arms of our Lord on March 30, 2022. He is survived by his long time companion Kevin Grant, four nephews; Terry Lanman, Gary Lanman, Mark Lanman, and Greg Hoppes; and niece Lori Rumph (Hoppes.) He was born in Grand Junction, Colorado to the late William Hoppes and Ruth Laverne Hoppes. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Marvin “Buck” Hoppes and sister Janet Strunk. Chuck attended Grand Junction High School before moving on to complete two Master’s Degrees in History and Social Work. Chuck further went on to become a high school history teacher, a college counselor, and ultimately retired from the State of Colorado Department of Labor. Chuck was a very intelligent man who remained humble his entire life, but relished in continually helping those around him. He was passionate about gardening in his yard and spending time with friends and loved ones. He was a kind and generous man who loved and was loved by his family and his friends. He shared his wonderful personality and sense of humor with everyone he met. Now resting in God's care, so dearly loved, so sadly missed. Your light and love will warm our hearts forever.
