Catherine Ann (Ruedi) Roome

Catherine Ann (Ruedi) Roome aged 84, passed away on September 12, 2024 in Arvada, Colorado.

Cathy was born on December 5, 1939, to George Rheim Ruedi and Henrietta Kallminzer in Denver, Colorado. She was the last to carry the Ruedi name connected to the Ruedi Reservoir in the White River National Forest. Cathy graduated from East High School in Denver in 1956 and went on to study music at Colorado State University (CSU) graduating in 1962. Cathy also married Robert (Bob) Roome in 1962. For the next few years, she taught music at CSU, before becoming a full-time mom in 1965 and eventually a full-time grandma in 1990. During that time, Cathy taught piano lessons all while being very involved in her children’s schools as a volunteer extraordinaire through their high school years.

Once her first grandchild was born, she became a professional grandmother which included babysitting, hosting countless birthday parties, crafting gift baskets for every holiday and serving as the center of the family.

She is survived by her husband, Bob, daughter Debb (Roome) Mally (Greg), Robert Roome (Susan) and Bruce Roome. There is a memorial honoring her life on September 28, 2024.
