November 15, 1940 - June 27, 2012 Carroll Birchell "Birchell" Coslow, 71, died Wednesday, June 27, 2012, in Denver, CO after a long illness. Born November 15, 1940, in Willisburg, he was the son of the late Calvin Turner and Nellie James Peavler Coslow, formerly of Harrodsburg. He was a 1958 graduate of Harrodsburg High School, a 1962 graduate of the University of Kentucky with a degree in Social Sciences and a graduate of the University of Kentucky School of Law in 1970. He was a Lt. Col USAF (Ret.), senior navigator and assistant Judge Advocate, retiring March 1, 1986. He was an attorney advisor in federal contract and fiscal law for the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, and Department of Defense, and associate general counsel for the Defense Finance and Accounting Service, retiring May 31, 1995. He was a member of the Harrodsburg Historical Society, a life member of the Kentucky Genealogical Society, a Kentucky Colonel, and a private pilot. He is survived by one nephew, Kenneth Wayne Sallee of Lexington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother Kenneth Gerald Coslow and a sister Violet Gayle Coslow Sallee. A graveside service with military honors will be held 11 A.M. Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the Battle Cemetery in Washington County. No visitation will be held. Alexander Royalty Funeral Home in Harrodsburg is in charge of arrangements.
