Carolyn Cramer Macadam

November 16, 1943 — January 21, 2024

Carolyn Cramer MacAdam was born November 16th , 1943, to parents Clark Johnston Cramer jr. and Margaret Elizabeth marks. She is survived by her two sisters Delia Walker, Lucy Cox and her brother John Cramer, her son Alec MacAdam and her grandson Porter MacAdam. Carolyn was preceded in death by Alec's father Bill MacAdam (ex-husband).

Carolyn lived a full life and had just turned 80 in November 2023. She was referred to as a "medical miracle" by her family, friends, and many health care workers who came to know and embrace her fighting spirit. Carolyn survived five bouts with cancer, effectively conquering them all and living many more years than most estimated.

In May of 2020, Carolyn moved from Troy, MI to Arvada, CO to live with her son and grandson. There, she enjoyed the simple pleasures of watching her grandson grow up, spending birthdays, holidays, and many special times together. Carolyn was grateful for these additional years of life and appreciated each extra day.

Carolyn was a highly intelligent, caring, and ambitious woman. Her professional endeavors included a decades long career as a successful financial planner retiring from Raymond James and Associates as a Senior Vice President in 206. She was particularly proud of her professional success in a primarily male-dominated industry - out performing many of her peers while doing so with integrity and compassion. Carolyn was an enthusiastic proponent of social justice and equality. She received many accolades over the years for her work in various local, state, and national roles. She was particularly honored to be recognized by Goodwill and given the Heart of Gold award for Volunteerism in 1984 which she proudly wore every day until her passing.

Carolyn loved traveling. She enjoyed countless adventures with friends and family during which many wonderful stories and memories were created. A lifelong lover of art and literature, she greatly enjoyed exploring new cultures and meeting people the world over. Her memory will continue in the lives with whom she shared her passion for learning, seeking, understanding, helping, exploring, and loving during her journey in this world.

Family, friends, colleagues, and all who knew her and appreciated her lifelong pursuit of social justice, and supporting theater and arts are encouraged to make a charitable donation in her name to one of her favorite organizations.

The American Civil Liberties Union, Sierra Club, National Abortion Rights Action league, Southern Poverty Law Center, Planned Parenthood, The Nature Conservancy, Dr's Without Borders, and National Public Radio / Public Broadcasting system - just to name a few. . .
