July 26, 1942 - June 22, 2013 Steinman, Carl Eugene II (Gene), 70, died on June 22, 2013. He was born July 26, 1942 to Carl Wylma Steinman in Denver Colorado. Gene was a well-known artist in the area with many carvings that currently reside in the Lookout Mountain Nature Center as well as a carousel horse that is displayed in the Smithsonian. Later in his career, he was a successful professor at the Art Institute of Colorado. Gene also enjoyed photography, picnics in Golden Gate Canyon, and his many trips to Hawaii with his family. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Louise along with his three sons, Scott (Tammy), Keith (Sandra), and Erick (Jennifer), and his six grandchildren: Amanda, Kristin and Katie Steinman, Angela (Joseph)Banks, Kevan and Tristan Steinman and a sister Anita Marcussen; a host of other relatives and friends also survive him. He will be greatly missed by his wife, sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, and countless friends and family members. A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers or gifts, please send a donation to Collier Hospice Care Center in Wheat Ridge. Arrangements are under the direction of Malesich and Shirey Funeral Home of Arvada.
