Bonny Jean Abercrombie

June 4, 1932 — August 21, 2019

Abercrombie, Bonny Jean (Hamilton) Born June 4, 1932 in Denver Colorado, Bonny passed away August 21, 2019, at her home in Arvada, Colorado after courageously battling various cancers for 17 years. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Robert (Bob), daughters Geraldine Toevs, Patricia Susan Pfister, and Barbara Jean Francis; and by her son Bryan Jay Abercrombie. She leaves eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and counting. Bonny was born to Ruth Hamilton (Zion), and attended Denver Public Schools, finishing at North High School in 1951. She met Bob at Asbury Methodist Church in North Denver, and was married in this church in 1952. Bonny loyally followed, sometimes reluctantly, Bob in the Army, and around the oil patch for 38 years, living in Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Missouri, Louisiana, Venezuela, Connecticut, Stavanger Norway, and St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada. Her four children were born in four different cities. Bonny’s family was her center of gravity. She adored her grandchildren, and their spouses and their children, and was happiest when they gathered in her home. Bonny was a homemaker all her life, but did volunteer worker in schools, hospitals and museums, and her friends might say she was a pretty good bridge player. Memorial service will be held at First United Church of Arvada, 7195 Simms St, on September 21, 2019 at 2:00 P. M. In lieu of flowers, please gift Lutheran Hospice or First United Church of Arvada in her name.
