Betty Jean Cook

August 18, 1943 — February 29, 2016

Betty Jean “Boo” Brueggemeyer Cook Monday morning, February 29, 2016 Mom lost a long and hard fight for life. She passed in peace being comforted and surrounded by family. She was 72 years old. She was born on August 18, 1943, in Grand Junction, Colorado. Daughter to Bill and Marie, and little sister, best friend to Bobby Joe. She is fondly remembered as the “giggling little girl” by her aunties, uncles and especially close cousins. She always made the out of town cousins feel welcomed and became great life friends with many of them. Boo Boo was always ready to have fun. From dancing, to sneaking out of the house and going on adventures. Like dragging North Avenue, or racing up the Grand Mesa. Betty’s four children were her life and she raised them to the best of her ability. She became the proud Grannie of five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Everyone loved going to Grannies house. She would play the piano with them, read books and most fun of all, create things with them. She didn’t care if they got glue on the table or paint on the floor. That was part of the fun. Betty was a talented painter, an amazing creator of lovely handmade items for the house and ornaments for Christmas. She collaborated with several friends and even sold some of her crafts. Mostly she did it for the fun and creative social outlet it became. Betty had another family and that was the one from Albertsons where she worked for almost with twenty years. The friends she made became lifelong and many of them kept in contact for years after retirement. Albertsons is where she met Ron her second husband of nearly 34 years. Betty was proceeded in death by her parents Bill and Marie, her big brother Bobby Joe and first husband Ed Allen. She is survived by husband Ron, daughters Shonna, Sheri, Taralee, and son Robert. As well as grandchildren Spencer, Shannon, Colton, Cami, and Cora. Great grandchildren Josiah, Areli, Ramon, Eva and Huntyr. She was and is an amazing woman. She will be missed by all of those she touched throughout her life Rest in the Peace you so deserve we love you very much! Memorial service 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at St. Pauls Community Church 8001 W. 23rd. Ave. Lakewood, CO
