July 19, 1927 - June 17, 2014 86, passed away after a valiant battle with a long illness. Lew served in the United States Navy during WW2 from 1944 to 1946. Born and raised in Jefferson County, Lew became the first plainclothes investigator in the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office in 1952. He graduated from the FBI National Academy and was Undersheriff until 1959. In the early 60s he became Civil Defense Director of Jefferson County. Lew served as Chief Investigator for the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office in the 60s and 70s. He was a charter member of the Colorado Polygraph Association and owned and operated his own business Factfinders, Inc. until his retirement in the 1980's. Lew married Doris V. Noorlun on February 4, 1950. Together they raised three sons: Larry, Dean and Gaylord. Lew was a member of Golden City Lodge #1 A.F. A.M. for over 55 years, as well as a member of El Jebel Shriners and Lakewood Elks Lodge for over 55 years. He was always an active participant in other civic organizations like the Kiwanis. He is survived by his Loving wife Doris, his 3 sons, 1 stepson Dennis,2 grandsons, 2 granddaughters, 1 great granddaughter, 2 great grandsons and 1 great great granddaughter! At his request no services will be conducted. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Denver Hospice Center.
