August 21, 1927 - November 26, 2014 Austin Parker was born August 21, 1927 in Forest, Mississippi, to the late Albert Wesley Parker and Nannie Gambrell Parker. Departed this life on November 26, 2014 in Golden, CO, his home during his later years with his son Thomas Austin Parker, Jr. Austin lived a complete and remarkable 87 years; he remained active and lived every day to it's fullest. Austin proudly served in the U.S. Navy and was an auxiliary member of the V.F.W. Post 4171 of Golden, Colorado. Austin will be laid to rest at Fort Logan National Cemetery on Friday, December 5, 2014 at 9:15 a.m. (4400 W. Kenyon Ave, Denver, CO 80236) and a reception immediately following at the V.F.W. Post 4171 (15625 W. 10th Ave., Golden, CO 80401). He is survived by his children; Thomas Austin Parker, Jr. (Soky), Charles Lewis and Cheryl Beamon; two sisters; Maggie Parker Moore (Hilmon) and Vernice Parker Thompson; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his life partner Cloretta Rickman, son; Earl Lewis and daughter Alicia Parker Williams, brothers; Sylvester Parker, Alvin Parker and Anslum Parker. A very special thanks to all the remarkable friends who embraced Austin during his time in Colorado. All of you made him feel so loved and appreciated. Austin always felt that each and every one of you were part of our family and you gave him so much joy.
