June 14, 1939 - September 23, 2011 72, of Arvada, Colorado, passed away peacefully from pancreatic cancer. Art was born in Warrington, England to Wilfred and Nellie (Risley) Haughton. His father did not survive WWII. Nellie then married Frank Farrar, an American GI, and the family came to Colorado. They lived in Walsenburg, then moved to Montrose, and finally to Arvada in the mid-1950s. Art's love of the western slope of Colorado came from his happy childhood in Montrose. His professional career was spent in data processing at First National Bank of Denver and Colorado National Bank. Known for his pranks and jokes, he made many lifelong friendships during his career. His interests and hobbies were very broad and diverse. He loved fishing, reading, travel, coin collecting, the Denver Broncos, and anything to do with Roy Rogers, George Jones, and Merle Haggard!!! He could keep his family and friends entertained for hours with his stories and antics. Art is survived by his wife Sandy (Boucher); his mother Nellie; his children Dan, Debbie, Dena, and Dawnell; his grandchildren Ryan, Hannah, and Jonah; his brother Frank T.; and his "bestest buddy", Cassie, our cocker spaniel. He was preceded in death by his father Wilfred Haughton, and his dad Frank H. Farrar. He will be missed by so many other family members and close friends. At his request, there will be no services. The family requests that everyone touched by Art celebrate his life in their own personal way. They suggest contributions in his memory to Lutheran Medical Center Foundation - Oncology, 8300 W. 38th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, Colorado 80033 or any cancer research charity.
